Inspired By Excellence & Innovation

Our school will embrace emancipatory pedagogy and its theories in conjunction with the College Board Advanced Academic curriculum.

WHY CHOOSE L.I.F.E. SCHOOLS?

Daily instruction will be embedded with practices that influence self-efficacy and the cultivation of the ability of our students to take ownership of their learning as well as developing the mindset to academically challenge the social conditions that marginalize stakeholders such as themselves.  The concept encourages prior knowledge and experiences in the learning process in lieu of rigid, rudimentary instruction geared to compliance. Our students will be active participants of their learning experience and independent, innovative thoughts, will be harnessed and cultivated the right way.  This will lead to the educational reforms needed to allow Miami Gardens to reach its full potential by awakening and transitioning stakeholders from the current stagnant and institutionalized state their current learning institutions support intentionally or submissively.

WORLD CLASS FACILITIES

L.I.F.E. Schools is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and developing learners in many disciplines who make a difference globally.

  • Business and Finance Focus – Our students leave financially literate

  • Humanities Focus – We encourage learning and growth through the arts

  • Leadership Development – Maximizing students potential to lead

OUR VALUES

The school will service predominantly minority students who have consistently attended educational faculties with significantly fewer resources. Researchers have found that the most significant forecaster of national gaps in educational success for minority students is based on the magnitude in which learners attend schools with a homogeneous make-up of low performing students.  One of the rationales for this trend is the pairing of the least proficient and novice instructors with voiceless and marginalized students who live in climates that are separate but unequal.

There are common narratives that tend to view the city of Miami Gardens experience from a lower-class lens, the school will counter the feeling of invisibility our learners may feel within their educational settings due to participating in a system unequipped to meet their needs.  Learners will benefit from positive interaction with peers and adults who relate to them and the burden of fighting for assets and social position within their current situation will be minimized greatly.  The collective experiences of the board intimately understand the nuances of the target groups’ plight as they navigate between the incongruences of the dominant culture and their own. The board will expose and combat racist and social constructs that are in place to keep our constituents’ subordinate thus allowing the city to reach its full potential.

Data has shown that students of color with equivalent resources can match or excel in national academic averages.  Our school will sustain this practice by offering competitive wages and goal-oriented supplemental incentives to those educators who chose to support our students.  Hiring highly qualified instructors will help to close the achievement gap and prepare our students to become productive and engaged citizens rather than succumbing to a life of dependency or basic survival.

Often low-socioeconomic students are faced with a multitude of problems in their communities and schools; these problems can negatively impact their academic development.  Therefore, providing a feasible alternative for parents that offer a first-rate educational experience and meets the high standards of charter school statutes is not only vital but also morally responsible. The School will successfully implement the College Board curriculum with fidelity and ensure that all stakeholders, specifically historically marginalized students will have the opportunity to participate in course work that will prepare them to successfully register and graduate from college.

As a school we will have the power and obligation to have a positive impact on the lives of future generations.  Therefor the quest for educational excellence should be evident in all school-site practices from the massive to the minute.  In the climate of high stakes testing having intelligent individuals alone is not enough.  Improving student learning and academic achievement requires hiring professionals that understand the nuances and complexity that make up urban education, experience plays a huge factor.  Once adequate human capital is secured maintaining an optimal school climate, emphasizing urgency and time management, and quality feedback to all stakeholders will play a key role in the school’s performance.
